I made a video about a month ago in which I taught the audience how to set up a "MacGyver Cold Plunge" by using a cheap chest freezer, some sealant, a UV filter, and a simple timer so the freezer can only turn on 1-2 hours a day and does not run up an electricity bill. The MacGyver Cold Plunge is great for many people since it is reliable, cheap, and you don't have to deal with those companies which overcharge for their cold plunge products. Today, I simply added a cheap infrared fold-up sauna from Amazon for less than $200 so you can incorporate inexpensive contrast therapy at home. Contrast therapy is simply going from one extreme temperature to another extreme temperature (typically hot then cold). Contrast therapy has been proven to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and aid muscle recovery (Leonardi, 2025). When you go to most contrast/cold plunge places in the US, they can charge between $60-$120 for a quick 30 min contrast therapy session. Nevertheless, you can purchase these simple products for only $400-$500 and do the contrast therapy at home everyday on your own. I recommend the infrared saunas since steam saunas tend to develop more bacteria, and infrared saunas have more benefits in my honest opinion. This will help you improve your recovery and circulation throughout the week while helping you detox and reducing your overall pain (which is great in between traveling). Eat Meat, Train Hard, and Let's Make America Great and Healthy Again. References: Leonardi, G. et al. (2025).
