AB346 — Medical Aid in Dying — One of Tracy's Only Six NAY Votes

AB346 would have authorized terminally ill, mentally competent adult patients in Nevada to request — under medical supervision and with safeguards — a medication that ends life on the patient’s own timing. The bill passed both chambers. Tracy Brown-May voted NO on the final passage. She voted NO on the procedural votes leading up to it. Out of 661 recorded floor votes in the 83rd session, she voted Nay only six times. AB346 was one of them.

I am on record across multiple platforms that informed consent and patient autonomy are the foundation of the doctor-patient relationship. A competent adult facing a terminal diagnosis has the right to make the most personal decision a human being can make, with the medical guidance their physician determines is appropriate. Tracy Brown-May voted to remove that option.

I will support a careful, safeguard-rich Nevada Medical Aid in Dying Act and I will explain my position to every voter in AD-42 who asks. This is not a partisan issue. It is a personal-autonomy issue.
