Why I’m Running

I am not a career politician. I am an attorney who has watched the same families I represent get failed by the same Carson City decisions, year after year — and decided that the only way to fix the problem was to show up at the building where the problem is made.

For the families of Assembly District 42 — Spring Valley, Mountain’s Edge, Enterprise, and the southwest valley — the stakes are real and they are local. Your grocery bill has gone up because of fuel-tax decisions made in Carson City. Your child’s school has lost focus on the basics because of curriculum decisions made in Carson City. Your healthcare options have narrowed because of reimbursement decisions made in Carson City. And the incumbent who represents you in that building has voted with the majority caucus on 655 of 661 floor votes in the 2025 session — a 99.1% party-line record.

District 42 deserves a representative who reads every bill, walks every neighborhood, and answers to the families who actually live here — not to a caucus whip. Volunteer with the campaign or support the effort with a contribution.

Background & Education

Dr. Brandlin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Long Beach in 2007, where he served as president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and worked as a personal trainer between classes.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School in 2010. During law school, while carrying a full-time course load, he operated his own personal training business, competed in sprint triathlons and all-natural bodybuilding, and won the Mr. Los Angeles Natural title — the same year he was published in Muscle & Fitness magazine.

Following law school, Dr. Brandlin faced serious health challenges that the traditional medical system failed to address. He was prescribed medications he did not need and was passed between specialists who did not communicate with one another. That experience transformed his career. He restored his own health through metabolic nutrition, animal-based ketogenic protocols, and functional-medicine principles — and made it his mission to ensure no family endures the same institutional failure.

He returned to school and earned an Associate of Applied Sciences in Dietetics from Central Arizona College in 2015, passing the national examination to become a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR). He completed an MBA in Finance from Fayetteville State University in 2022 to deepen his understanding of healthcare economics. He earned a PhD in Public Policy and Administration with a Public Health emphasis from Walden University, where his doctoral dissertation on the consequences of pandemic-era vaccine mandates was nationally published.

That trajectory — from personal crisis to professional mission — is the foundation of both his law practice and his candidacy. Hear Dr. Brandlin discuss his journey on the campaign videos page.

“Public health should empower families, not restrict them. Our citizens have become customers in a broken system — prescribed pharmaceuticals instead of being given real solutions. I am running because the families I represent every day in court deserve a representative in Carson City who has actually read the medical literature.”

— Dr. Chris Brandlin

In His Own Words

“I am running to represent Nevada’s Assembly District 42 — to protect our freedoms, to improve the lives of the families who call our district home, and to bring lived expertise to the work that Carson City has been doing without it.”

“A healthier population is a more productive population. A safer community allows families to thrive. A stronger education system prepares the next generation to lead. We can have all three — we just have to decide we want them.”

“I would rather be at your door than at a consultant’s table.”
