I Signed the U.S. Term Limits Pledge

One of the nine commitments

Chris Brandlin signs the U.S. Term Limits pledge — one of the nine commitments he is running on in AD-42.

The pledge asks state legislators and candidates to support a constitutional amendment applying term limits to Congress, and to back a state-level application toward that amendment. Signing it is a public, checkable commitment: the organization maintains its own list of signers, which means the promise is verifiable by someone other than the campaign making it.

That verifiability is the point worth drawing out. A pledge that a third party tracks is a different kind of statement from one made only in a speech — and it is the same standard this campaign applies to the incumbent's voting record.

Nevada already imposes term limits on its own legislators; the pledge concerns Congress, where none currently apply.
