Chris Brandlin announces his August 15 bull-riding date. Yes, really.

Most candidates announce endorsements. This is an announcement that he intends to get on a bull on a specific date, made in advance, in public, with no way to quietly drop it afterward.

That is the actual point of the clip. Saying a hard thing out loud beforehand is a commitment device, and it is the same disposition that shows up in training through an injury rather than around it.
