The core of the platform, stated directly

Chris Brandlin's central claim: that public health is the foundation the rest of state policy rests on, and that healthy citizens make a stronger Nevada.

The argument is about sequencing. Health status shows up in school attendance and attainment, in workforce participation, in the state's largest budget line through Medicaid, and eventually in public safety. Treating it as one policy area among many understates how much of everything else moves with it.

Whether one accepts the full weight of that claim, the budget half is hard to dispute: health spending is among the largest items a state legislature allocates, and prevention is where the leverage sits if it can be made to pay.
