Chris Brandlin explains why a public-health advocate is running as a Republican in Nevada AD-42, and where he thinks the party gets health policy right.

The premise of the video is that the usual political sorting does not describe this issue well. Positions on food policy, metabolic health, medical autonomy, and skepticism of pharmaceutical influence do not divide neatly along party lines, and people who hold all four end up without an obvious home. His argument is that the Republican coalition is currently the more receptive one on the specific questions he cares about — not that it is right about everything.
