Ozone Sauna Benefits

What an ozone steam sauna does — and which claims to check

Chris Brandlin describes an ozone steam sauna session and, to his credit, frames it around which claims are worth checking rather than presenting it as settled.

The distinction that matters most here is between the steam and the ozone. Heat and steam have a reasonable evidence base for circulation and perceived recovery, and most of what a session feels like comes from that. Ozone itself is a different matter: it is a strong oxidant and a known respiratory irritant, which is why the EPA documents its health effects as an air pollutant. In cabinet-style sauna use the head is kept outside the enclosure specifically so it is not inhaled.

Stated plainly: ozone therapy is not an established medical treatment, claims made for it are not well supported by high-quality evidence, and inhaling ozone is genuinely harmful. Anyone considering it should talk to a physician first, particularly with any respiratory condition.
