Teaching fingertip pushups at Hack Your Health

Chris Brandlin teaching fingertip pushups at Hack Your Health — grip and finger-strength work, demonstrated rather than described.

Fingertip pushups load the finger flexors and the small stabilisers of the hand in a way almost nothing else in a normal training programme does. They are also unusually easy to get wrong: the temptation is to collapse into the fingertips rather than hold an actively extended hand, which is how people hurt themselves. Progression from a wall, to knees, to the floor exists for a reason.

Grip strength is one of the few fitness markers that tracks meaningfully with long-term health outcomes, which is why it keeps appearing across this library rather than only in the obstacle-course clips.

Related: grip strength and lache work, alternating knuckle pushups, and the headstand from the same event.
